Travel Planning - Italy
Big Picture
If you've been following our travel plans, you'll notice that the overall plan for visiting Italy has changed.
Our schedule now has us visiting northern Italy first on our Globus Northern Italy and Cingue Terre tour. We're also working on refining the rest of our visit to Italy as we select a travel vendor in Italy to help us with Rome and the Amalfi Coast. We still have quite a bit of work to do, but we hope to have things nailed down early in August.

Roma 2023
First stop, Roma!
Yep, we're gonna be the typical tourists, visiting the Colosseum, Vatican City, Trevi Fountain and all the other places we are 'expected' to go.
We previously used the Rome Connection on a tour here, and they were great. They will again be our host on our Rome adventure!
Italian Treasures 2023
The Globus Italian Treasures tour originates and ends in Rome. Our first stops are centered on Tuscany as we first spend two days in Lucca (Pisa), visiting Cinque Terra, Pisa, and Siena. The next two days take us to Verrazzano and the iconic city of Florence.
We've wanted to get to Cinque Terre for quite some time. The down-to-earth region offers classic small Italian towns and stunning scenery to enjoy. Half the remaining cities we're visiting make me think of Italian food or wine... Parma, Vercelli, Rapallo, Portofino... I get hungry just reading the itinerary!
Leaving Tuscany, we;ll have a stop in Verona and then spend two days exploring Venice. I'm looking forward to my first gondola ride! On the way back to Rome we'll spend a day in Assisi and stop in Orvieto.
Naples and the Amalfi Coast 2023
After a short rest and recovery in Rome, iy will be time for us to strike out on our own again.
Taking a train to Naples, we'll set up there for several days exploring SOrrento, Amalfi, postiano and Ravelli.
Weather will determine if we spend a day on a boat seeing the coast from the water, or if we just explore Capri. Regardless, I know we'll have a great time.
Pompei is our last stop before we head back to Rome on the train for the next adventure!
