This shows the 'comfort index'. Late March, April and early-May have the most uncomfortable heat/humidity combinations.

Cloudy weather begins to increase after the start of March. By the end of April, the chance of partly-cloudy or better skies drops below 15% daily.

Scenic Spirit

This trip begins in Siem Reap. Discover Banteay Srei and visit the Landmine Museum. In the afternoon visit the majestic Angkor Wat.

We'll also visit Ta Prohm Temple, before stopping at Angkor Thom and the multi-faced Bayon Temple.

The Mekong River is at the heart of everyday life in Vietnam and Cambodia. One of the most biologically diverse rivers in the world, second only to the Amazon, this magical waterway will capture your sense of wonder. On Day 4, we meet the Scenic Spirit in Kampong Cham.

From the sanctuary of Scenic Spirit, witness the daily interactions of local residents and admire the kaleidoscope of color and wonder as you pass by. As Scenic Spirit cruises along the Mekong, you will gain a true insight into the history and culture of the ancient lands that have built a life around this vital river.

The first morning on Scenic Spirit you approach Wat Hanchey, an ancient hilltop pagoda and monastery to meet the resident novice monks.

Angkor Ban & Silk Island - Upon arrival in Angkor Ban, explore its historical rural wooden houses, which survived the Khmer Rouge, and visit the local pagoda. Later, cruise downstream to Koh Dach Island dedicated to the art of silk weaving before continuing your cruise to Phnom Penh.

In Phnom Penh you can visit the Killing Fields and tour Tuol Sleng, or join a hands-on Khmer cooking demonstration. Alternatively, explore Phnom Penh’s colonial buildings and visit the Central Market by remork. On the second day, visit the Royal Palace, featuring the famous Silver Pagoda before setting sail for the border in the afternoon.

In Tan Chau, Temple, ride on a xe loi, unique to the delta, then walk through farms to meet the locals on Evergreen Island or visit Tra Su Bird Sanctuary.

On the last full day, explore the lively markets in Sa Dec. See the home of Mr Huynh Thuy Le (under restoration) who inspired Marguerite Duras’ novel L’Amant. Tonight we sail for Ho Chi Minh City.
